Background: Foot edema is a common clinical manifestation in patients with congestive heart failure (CHF) due to fluid retention. Objective: To examine the effectiveness of neuromuscular electrical stimulation (NMES) in reducing foot edema among CHF patients at RSUD Cilacap. Methods: This quasi-experimental study with a pre–post test control group design was conducted on 32 CHF patients with foot edema, consisting of 16 patients in the intervention group (NMES) and 16 patients in the control group. Foot edema was measured using a metline before and after the intervention. Results: The control group showed no significant change (mean = 0.26 ± 0.91 cm; p = 0.269). The intervention group demonstrated a significant reduction in edema (mean = 1.09 ± 1.04 cm; p = 0.0008). Comparison between groups indicated a significant difference (p = 0.024). Conclusion: NMES therapy was proven effective in reducing foot edema among CHF patients compared to standard care.
