Abstract

Intrauterine Contraceptive Devices (IUDs) are highly effective long-term contraceptive methods used by women to space births for more than three years. Knowledge and spousal support are factors that influence the use of IUDs. This study aims to describe the knowledge and spousal support regarding IUDs among women of reproductive age in Tampekan Village, within the working area of the Banjar 1 Public Health Center. This descriptive study utilized a cross-sectional approach and was conducted on March 12, 2024. The sample consisted of 75 women of reproductive age living in Tampekan Village who met the specified criteria. Data collection was carried out using questionnaires. Data analysis was performed using univariate analysis in the form of frequency distributions and percentages for each variable. The study's findings revealed that the majority of women of reproductive age (70.7%) had a moderate level of knowledge about IUDs. Furthermore, a significant proportion (64%) reported a lack of spousal support for IUD use in Tampekan Village, with the highest level of support being in the form of information (89.3%). The study concludes that while the women of reproductive age in Tampekan Village generally have adequate knowledge about IUDs, most husbands do not provide support for their use.
