PUBLIC SPEAKING TRAINING AS AN EFFORT TO IMPROVE CADRE SKILLS IN HEALTH PROMOTION

Abstract
Background: Nowadays, everyone is required to have various life skills, one of which is public speaking. The direct presence of health cadres delivering health-related materials is considered more effective for health promotion activities, as it helps the audience stay focused and better understand the content. Although these cadres already have the ability to speak in front of an audience, they need to practice and refine their techniques and skills. Objective: To improve the public speaking skills and confidence of posyandu (community health post) cadres. Method: This community service activity involved 21 participants. The procedure was carried out in three stages: preparation, implementation, and evaluation.
Results: The average pre-test score of the participants was 49.52. After the training, the average post-test score increased to 81.43, showing an improvement of 31.90%. Conclusion: This community service activity positively impacted participants' cognitive knowledge of public speaking. Additionally, their skills and confidence in speaking in public also improved significantly.
