Abstract
Anemia during pregnancy requires serious attention because it is one of the causes of death. The most common anemia in pregnancy is iron deficiency anemia. The government has tried to prevent anemia in pregnancy by administering 90 iron (Fe) tablets during pregnancy. Giving Fe tablets alone is not effective in increasing hemoglobin levels, especially if the mother does not comply with consuming them. Vitamin C is a good combination to help iron absorption. One fruit that contains vitamin C and compounds that are beneficial for health is tomatoes. This study aimed to determine the effectiveness of a combination therapy of Fe tablets and tomato juice on the hemoglobin levels of pregnant women with anemia. The research method used was descriptive analytics with a case study approach on 5 third-trimester pregnant women who experienced anemia. The sampling technique uses purposive sampling. Data was collected through interviews and observations, literature studies, and documentation. After giving tomato juice for 4 weeks the results showed an increase in hemoglobin levels in pregnant women with anemia.
