Abstract

Background: Deviant behavior can lead to a high incidence of HIV/AIDS among adolescents. Various factors can influence HIV/AIDS prevention behavior, one of which is the role of peers. Objective: To determine the relationship between the role of peers and HIV/AIDS prevention behavior at the Posyandu Remaja in Gandrungmanis Village. Method: This study is an analytic survey with a cross-sectional design. The sampling technique used was total sampling with 33 respondents. Results: The role of peers was mostly in the good role category (69.7%), and HIV/AIDS prevention behavior was mostly in the positive category (75.8%). The Fisher’s Exact Test results showed a significance value of p = 0.036 < α (0.05). Conclusion: There is a significant relationship between the role of peers and HIV/AIDS prevention behavior at the Posyandu Remaja in Gandrungmanis Village (p = 0.036).
